What is Eternal Life?
Eternal Life simply means God kind of Life. God’s nature and characteristics.
When we relate it with human being, it means people receiving God’s kind of Life or nature that comes to human being only through accepting Jesus Christ.
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3). “Life eternal, then, is not mere conscious and unending existence, but a life of acquaintance with God in Christ.” Eternal life is a free gift of God to believers in Jesus Christ. scriptureway.com
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 AMP
Eternal life is the life that our Eternal Father in heaven lives. It’s God’s kind of life that God gave Adam in Genesis 2:7. The life that will enable people to fulfil their function as human beings on earth. When man lost this life through Adam, God returned it to human being through Jesus Christ.

“Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.” Romans 5:18-19 NLT
THE KEY FUNCTION OF HUMAN BEINGS ON EARTH.
As every manufacturer will design and manufacture a product and built its ability in it, so God design man in Genesis 1:26 and manufactured human in verse 27 and assign its features in verse 28. “Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26-28)
The purpose of Eternal Life. God’s presence in our lives gave us a love nature, produces peace, purpose and power. Love makes us to do things like God on earth. Peace shows itself by the ability to properly relate to God, other persons, ourselves and our world. Purpose provides understanding of God’s desires for our lives and power and power provides a believer the authority and power to rule over the works of kingdom of darkness.
How to Receive Eternal Life.
You can receive God’s kind of life only by believing with your heart that Jesus Christ died sins and resurrected for your sins and open your mouth to confess the same. You will instantly have this life.
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9–10 NLT

Can human being receive God’s Kind of Life?
God is Love and all His character shown to us in His human body through Jesus is all about love. No body have seen God but god manifested himself through Jesus.
One of the disciples of Jesus asked Jesus to show they God and Jesus answered, “He that has seen Me has seen the Father”. He demonstrated God’s love in everything He did on earth. He fed the hungry, heal the sick, raise the dead and many more and the last of all, He died for human being’s sins. No greater love than this.
Bible said Eternal Life is a free gift of God and from man. “…free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
The only thing I know one can do to receive a FREE GIFT is to accept the it when it is offered and the gift will become the receiver’s own.
Human being can receive eternal Life only by receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” AMP.
So, anybody or any person means, whether man or woman, young or old, any color, race, nation, etc that accept this Free Gift of God will not be destroyed but will have eternal life.
“This is what God told us: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life, but whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:11–12 New Century Version (NCV).
And when will human being receive God’s Nature in Him/Her?
God told us in verse 12 of the above scripture that “Whoever has the Son (Jesus) has life (eternal life), …”. So, we receive this God’s life here on earth and the full dose of it when physical death will no more have power over human being will be in the return of Jesus Christ (the first born again son of God).
“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” 1 Peter 5:4 NIV

John 4:14
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
